Ads... Seriously?

Please correct me if Im missing something here, but why would ads be incorporated into an app designed specifically for young children? Its not like they can make intelligible decisions about which apps they need, want, etc. At the very least there should be an option to disable the ads; especially since this app costs $2.99.

Did I mention that these ads can be disruptive to the game play? My son keeps inadvertently touching the ads; which exits the game to an app download screen - Ridiculous!
